Payment Plan


As required by Texas State law (TCCP 103.003), if you are unable to pay the full amount of the fine at the time assessed by the Court, you will be required to apply and qualify for an extension to pay the balance of the fine.

To qualify for an extension, you must provide verifiable financial information and meet with the Court’s Collection Specialist prior to being given additional time to pay.

Your fine(s) are due in FULL by the date given on your court documentation. The Denton Municipal Court does NOT have payment plans. If you are unable to pay in full, you will be required to go through the Collections Department to QUALIFY for an extension to pay your fine(s). You will be required to fill out a financial affidavit and have a Collections interview. This process will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. You will need to provide all the following information to determine eligibility:

    Proof of Residency – Current lease agreement/Mortgage Payment and Landlord phone number
    Proof of Employment – Current pay stubs of all who are employed. Employers’ addresses and phone number’s
    Proof of Identification – Driver’s License, I. D. Card, School I. D., or Birth Certificate
    Two References – Names and current phone numbers
    Proof of Benefits or other sources of income
    Information on Assets: Bank statements, credit card information, automobiles, household bills, etc.
    Be prepared to make a partial payment
    Juveniles must appear with a parent and the above information

 

This information will be verified through contacting employers, landlords, etc.

FILING FALSE INFORMATION WITH THE COURT IS A CLASS A MISDEMEANOR PUNISHABLE BY UP TO ONE YEAR IN JAIL AND A MAXIMUM FINE UP TO $4000.

Each case with an outstanding balance is subject to an additional $25 Time Payment Fee Required by law
